If you are located in a declared disaster area, you may be eligible for financial assistance from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
The SBA encourages homeowners, renters, business owners, and non-profit organizations in declared counties that suffered physical damages and/or loss of revenue to submit their SBA applications as soon as possible. The declared counties include Madison, Carroll, Chester, Crockett, Gibson, Hardeman, Haywood, and Henderson counties.

- Applicants may apply online using the Electronic Loan Application (ELA) via SBA’s secure website at https://disasterloanassistance.sba.gov/ela/s/, and should apply under SBA declaration # 17286, not for the COVID-19 incident.
- To be considered for all forms of disaster assistance, applicants should register online at DisasterAssistance.gov or download the FEMA mobile app. If online or mobile access is unavailable, applicants should call the FEMA toll-free helpline at 800-621-3362. Those who use 711-Relay or Video Relay Services should call 800-621-3362.
- Businesses and individuals may also obtain information and loan applications by calling the SBA’s Customer Service Center at 1-800-659-2955 (1-800-877-8339 for the deaf and hard-of-hearing) or emailing DisasterCustomerService@sba.gov.
- Loan applications can also be downloaded at sba.gov/disaster . Completed applications should be mailed to: U.S. Small Business Administration, Processing and Disbursement Center, 14925 Kingsport Road, Fort Worth, TX 76155.
Remember:
Small businesses and most private nonprofit organizations in the following adjacent counties are eligible to apply only for SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans (not physical damage loans) in the following TN counties:
Henry, Lake, Montgomery, Obion, Robertson, Stewart and Weakley in Tennessee.
The filing deadline to return applications for economic injury applications is Sept. 12, 2022
- Remember: even though the CENTERS are open in KY, anyone needing help will be serviced at these IN PERSON locations, if they desire IN-person support with the process.
- SBA staff will be ON THE GROUND & IN-PERSON at these locations but again, any person can CALL THE 1800# for help.
- Please remind the public that they do NOT have to come to a center to get help, but the center locations are listed above.

- The SBA announced today the opening of a Business Recovery Center (BRC) at the Joe Creason Community Center in Benton, Kentucky on Wednesday, Dec. 15 to provide businesses with one-on-one assistance in submitting a disaster loan application if they were impacted by the severe storms, straight-line winds, flooding, and tornadoes on Dec. 10, 2021. - SBA Disaster Loan Programs: Individuals in Henry, Lake, Obion, and Weakley counties in Tennessee are now eligible for Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) (https://disasterloanassistance.sba.gov/ela/s/disaster-details?recordId=a0et0000008tlGKAAY) as a result of the tornados, storms, etc. Businesses of any size, homeowners, and nonprofits can get SBA low interest loans. Businesses and nonprofits that already received COVID EIDL loans are eligible for this as well.
